Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Peninsula, Ohio (Tuesday, November 15, 2011) - The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park will be lighting up the holiday season at its annual favorite, Festival of Lights. The event promotes awareness for the numerous holiday, winter solstice and end-of-year traditions celebrated by cultures from across the globe.
Guests will enjoy dinner catered by Executive Chef Larkin Rogers before taking a stroll through candle-lit woods to sample a variety of solstice and holiday traditions. The stroll through Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center's campus will present an assortment of seasonal celebrations with demonstrations, crafts and desserts being provided. Holidays being celebrated include Christmas, Diwali, Soyal, Jankanu, Loy Krathong, Chanukah, Koroksun, and the Yule Log among others.
The Festival of Lights will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center.
Guests have the option of a 6 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. dinner. Reservations are required as seating is limited. The cost is $25 per person ages 12 and older, $20 Conservancy members, $7 for children ages five through 11. There is no charge for children ages four and under.
