This illustration from the 1893 catalog of a Philadelphia manufacturer describes the application of a roof made from their iron or steel that had been seamed into rolls at the factory, from sheets measuring 26x104 iinches. The technique would have been the same for a roof of tinplate, terne plate or copper.
