July 31, 2006 – Coronado National Memorial experienced a thousand year flood event according to the National Weather Service. During this event the park received about a foot of rain fell in a 30 hour period, causing widespread damage to trails, and the park’s main road, closing the park to the public
November 2006 – Main park road, 1/2 of the picnic area, Coronado Peak Trail, Joe’s Canyon Trail and Yaqui Ridge Trial reopened.
January15, 2006 - Repairs to the Crest Trail are completed and the trail reopens to the public.

Posted sites in the picnic area
There have been recent rockslides in the park. Please use extra caution and do not enter areas that look unstable. Do not walk or climb in rubble.Please, remember to hike with water and weather appropriate clothing and boots. Always let someone know of your hiking plans.
