Why do people gather across America to celebrate the Fourth of July? Who were some of the historic figures involved in the story of American Independence? Discover some of the history of this holiday by unscrambling the missing words in this fun activity.

The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776. Most of the delegates to the Second Continental Congress signed the document on August 2, 1776. By putting their names on this paper, these men risked losing everything if the British won the American Revolution. Even though the Americans won, some of these men suffered severely by supporting independence. Find the names of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence in this puzzle. The States' delegates to the 1787 Constitutional Convention came to Philadelphia to revise the old Articles of Confederation but ended up drafting an entirely new, revolutionary document.
