Welcome Future Canal Stewards

The C&O Canal needs YOU to help protect your National Historical Park for generations to come! A 184.5 mile early engineering marvel, historical lockhouses, the Potomac River, and even rare plants – there are endless reasons why stewardship is important to the C&O Canal.

Directions

  • This program includes 5 stewardship activities you can do at your own pace. You will train to become a Junior Canal Steward through interesting stories, videos, activities, and more.
  • Click on each activity below and follow the instructions on each page. Get ready to create memories and discover ways you can play an active part in preserving your National Historical Park!
