2024 Summer Visitor Guide

With the end of winter and the return of mild temperatures at Cedar Breaks National Monument, the park is excited to offer a wide variety of visitor activities this summer. For information on what is open and closed now, please visit our Current Conditions Page.

The information below will help you plan your visit to the park this summer. With construction of the park’s new Visitor Contact Station nearing completion, the experience will be different but still memorable. This page will be regularly updated throughout the season, please check back as your arrival date approaches.

Road and Parking Lot Construction
Cedar Breaks is undergoing a road preservation project this summer. From July - mid-August, be prepared for potential delays, closures or noise along the main park road, parking lots, and campground.

Visitor Information, Fee Collection, & Pass Sales
The Information Center is located on the east side of the main park road. This temporary Information Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, and is where visitors can speak with a ranger, pay their entrance fee, or purchase an interagency park pass.

Point Supreme Campground will open on June 14, 2024. All campsites must be reserved on www.recreation.gov. First come, first served sites at the campground are only available if there are cancellations.

Ranger Programs
For specific information on ranger programs and activities, including starting locations and times, visit the temporary Information Center or check our calendar of events page.

Dark Sky Programs
Join us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, May 24th-Sept 22nd, at the North View Overlook for an evening under the stars. Learn details on our Dark Skies page.

Festivals and Special Events
The park plans to host monthly festivals June through September. Visit our calendar page for specific information on programming and events.
Wildlife Extravaganza: June 7th-9th
Geology Jamboree: June 21st-23rd
Wildflower Festival: July 6th-14th
Heritage Festival: August 9th-11th
Southwest Astronomy Festival: September 20-22nd

Junior Ranger
Junior Ranger Activity Books can be picked up from the temporary Information Center or from a roving ranger. Park rangers will be available throughout the park at overlooks and on trails to review completed books and award badges.

Zion Forever Project Park Store
The park store is in the same building as the temporary Information Center (southeast of Point Supreme) and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Point Supreme Overlook
This overlook is closed to all visitor access. Construction of the park's visitor contact station is underway, entering this area is unsafe and can lead to serious injury or death. Construction and the associated closure will continue through mid-summer. Visitor services including ranger programs, pass sales, and park information have been relocated to the temporary Information Center.

Port-a-potties are available at the temporary Information Center, South Rim Trailhead, and North View Overlook. Vault toilets are located at the Picnic Area.
NOTE: Campground restrooms are for registered campers only.
