"Take a Hike", Correct Answer: Leave Artifacts Where You Find Them

Arrowhead. Leave artifacts where you find them.
Arrowhead. Leave artifacts where you find them.

Fantastic!

If you find an artifact, it is very important to leave it where you find it. It is against the law to take anything from a national park unit. You can mark the location on a map and tell a ranger.

Archeologists can tell us about the people in the past by looking at the entire site the artifact is in and make connections. If pieces are taken away, the information about these people is lost forever.
