Cane River Creole National Historical Park is the first site in Louisiana to partner with Chronolog to engage visitors in a new citizen science project. Photo stations have been created where visitors can email photographs taken from specific sites along trails to create time lapses of historic landscapes.

“Cane River Creole National Historical Park is excited to provide this opportunity for visitors to get involved and document their park,” said Chief of Interpretation Barbara Justice. “it is a fun and easy way to assist park staff in caring for this special place!”

Photo stations are located at both Magnolia and Oakland Plantations. The Magnolia station is mounted on the footbridge from the parking area to the brick Slave/Tenant Cabins. The station at Oakland is mounted in the Pavilion near the parking area. Please upload a photograph during your park visit!

Magnolia Plantation is located at 5549 Highway 119, Cloutierville, Louisiana and can only be reached from the Louisiana Highway 1. Oakland Plantation is located at 4386 Highway 494, Natchez, Louisiana. The grounds of Oakland and Magnolia Plantations are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nearly 80 original buildings remain, many open for self-guided tours including several that are historically furnished. The park also offers a cell phone tour. The Magnolia Main House is privately owned and is not open to the public.
