Looking for something to do on New Year's Day? How about taking part in the first lighthouse climb of the year? A special lighthouse program, including a climb to the top, will be presented on Monday, January 1, 2018.
Kick off the New Year with a visit to your favorite beach and a climb to the top of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. Come experience the view from the gallery while hearing nostalgic stories of the lighthouse keepers, the lighthouse, and the natural barrier island ecosystem during winter.
The program begins on Harkers Island at 10:15 am under the ferry dock canopy. Please arrive a few minutes early to check your party in with park rangers before the program starts. All participants will travel together on a single ferry that departs shortly after the program begins (about 10:30 am). The ferry will return to Harkers Island at approximately 1:00 pm.
Space is limited and reservations are required. This program will be able to accommodate a maximum of 40 total participants. The cost of the program is $25 per person (price includes ferry fee) and is non-refundable (weather dependent).
