The rocky intertidal area at Cabrillo National Monument is highly valued as a recreational, educational, and scientific public resource. In order to conserve these tidepools for this and future generations, the National Park Service conducts long-term ecological monitoring under the Cabrillo Rocky Intertidal Monitoring Program (CRIMP).
