Looking for a way to give back to the Buffalo National River? Join members of BNRP and other supporters for a river clean up on Monday, April 23 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Participants will paddle 2.5 miles from Ponca to Steel Creek. Meet at Ponca and be sure to bring grabbers, shovels or other tools to get items out of the river. Bags and gloves will be provided for trash (e.g., cans, paper, etc.). Bring a sack lunch, water and any other items you will need for your comfort.
Buffalo National River has arranged with the great folks at Buffalo Outdoor Center and Lost Valley Canoe & Lodging to donate canoes for those who might need one to help with the clean up. If you’d like to help but need a canoe, please indicate on your registration. Cleanup participants will have the option to return to Ponca along the Buffalo River Trail (2.6 mile hike) or ride the shuttle back.
The clean up is limited to 40 participants (20 canoes). If you’d like to participate, please see details at the BNRP website (www.bnrpartners.org)
