Industry

In addition to agriculture, Native Americans as well as the European settlers exploited the natural resources of the Buffalo River Area. Trees were logged to build along the river and to send to markets outside the region; rock was mined for any profitable minerals, and even the guano from bat caves provided resources to Civil War soldiers.
