Historical Influences on the Buffalo River is based on Arkansas State Standards for 9th through 12th grade science. Suggested differentiation and extension activities are given for each unit. All of the lessons are intended for high school students, 9-12, but may be adapted to fit the needs of lower grades.

Historical Influences is comprised of 4 activities: Early Settlers, Mining in Arkansas, The Path to Arkansas Statehood, and The Civil War in Arkansas. Student products from these plans include essays, podcasts, and presentations.
