Roanoke Picnic Area Music Series

Four musicians play banjo, mandolin, fiddle and bass on a stage
Hear traditional music sponsored by the Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Roanoke Mountain Picnic Area (formerly the Roanoke Mountain Campground).

Music is a natural part of these mountains, practically inseparable from those who call this special place home. The Southern Highlands have a rich and varied tradition of old-time string band music, ballad singing and bluegrass. Experience authentic music of the mountains by joining us on Sundays at the Roanoke Mountain Picnic Area to enjoy a free concert.
