Roanoke Picnic Area Music Series

Hear traditional music sponsored by the Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Roanoke Mountain Picnic Area (formerly the Roanoke Mountain Campground).

The Southern Highlands have a rich and varied tradition of old-time string band music, ballad singing, and bluegrass. Experience authentic music of the mountains on Sundays in summer and fall at the Roanoke Mountain Picnic Area. The full schedule of concerts can be found on the website calendar.

Bring a comfortable chair or blanket, a picnic and plenty of drinking water. Alcohol is prohibited. Concerts may be canceled in the event of inclement weather. For more information, call (540) 745-9680 weekdays or (276) 952-2345 on weekends.

To reach the Roanoke Mountain Picnic Area, exit the parkway at mile 120.4 and follow the Mill Mountain Spur Road for 1.3 miles.
