On January 24, 2013, current Artist-In-Residence Richard Eskin, will hold a photography workshop demonstrating his medium and techniques. The workshop will be 12:00-1:00 pm at the Big Cypress Swamp Welcome Center.

Regarding his residency, Richard says his "focus will be to illustrate the flora, fauna and habitat from small to large, day to night, exploring the patterns of diversity of life in a chosen wetland area. These images will be assembled into one or more montages or composite images, placing specific plants or animals in their proper habitats, with the habitat created as a two-dimensional panorama."

The Art Demonstration Series offers a chance for the visitor to learn more about how our Artist-In-Residence create their works of art, while at the Preserve.

The Artist-In-Residence Program at Big Cypress National Preserve offers professional writers, composers, and visual and performing artists the opportunity to pursue their artistic discipline while being surrounded by the preserve's inspiring landscape.
