"Yellowstone, Yesterday and Today", is an amazing example of what happens when two people with a passion for our National Parks come together. Historian Lee H. Whittlesey describes the authors and their project best:
"These images are the result of a two-year collaboration between photographer Paul Horsted and Bob Berry, a collector of historic photographs. They are a perfect pair for such a project. Paul is a freelance photographer and publisher who has produced or contributed to nine books about his home state of South Dakota. Bob owns what is probably the nation's foremost collection of historic Yellowstone photographs, dating from 1871 to the 1930s. A book produced by these two men could only be fascinating, and as a professional historian, I have certainly found it so."
Bighorn Canyon and Western National Parks Association would like to invite you for an afternoon of "Yellowstone, Yesterday and Today." On August 9, 2013, Bob Berry will be at the Bighorn Canyon Visitor Center in Lovell, Wyoming talking about the book he co-authored with Paul Horsted. Bring a lunch and join us for Mr. Berry's brown bag presentation at noon. His presentation will include information about how the book came together and many of the 103 historic photographs will be shown. If you can't make it at noon, a second presentation will begin at 5:00 pm. Between the two presentations, Mr. Berry will be on hand for book signing and discussion.
