River Before the Dam Presentations
The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area will be presenting two intriguing presentations this July about the Bighorn River before the Yellowtail Dam was built in the 1960s. The presentations will be conducted by Jonathan Hall, a PhD candidate from the University of Montana in Missoula. During the summer of 2011, Mr. Hall performed numerous oral history interviews with people who were here before the dam was built, and with people who helped construct the dam. Mr. Hall's research presented Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area with a treasure of knowledge about the history of the river, which will be valuable for the park for generations to come.
vOn July 23rd, Mr. Hall will perform his first presentation at the historic Hyart Theater at 7 PM. The presentation will be part lecture, video and PowerPoint, and Mr. Hall will answer your questions about the river before the dam.
vOn July 26th, Mr. Hall will perform his second presentation at the Bighorn County Museum in Hardin, Montana at 4 PM. The presentation will also be part lecture, video and PowerPoint, and Mr. Hall will answer your questions about the river and the dam.
