BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK, INTERIOR, SD -- On Tuesday afternoon, park rangers responded to a report of an injured hiker on Castle Trail. The visitor, a 38 year old woman from Maryland, had broken her leg while exploring the Badlands formations. The woman was injured in rugged terrain and had to be litter carried for approximately two miles back to the parking lot at Fossil Exhibit Trail. Kadoka Ambulance Service and Interior Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the call.
