Winds of Badlands Concert July 30th
Badlands National Park is hosting the Winds of Badlands concert at 9:00pm on Tuesday, July 30 in the Cedar Pass Amphitheater. The Winds of Badlands is a concert of music written about Badlands National Park with video of images that inspired the compositions. Oboist Jill Haley, a former Artist in Residence at the park, will be joined in presenting this music by Grammy award winning guitarist, David Cullen.
The wind was a constant companion as Jill trekked around the park, bringing an inspiring force to much of the music. “Whirlwind”, “Cliff Shelf Breeze”, and “Prairie Grass Dance” are a few of the pieces that will be shared.
“Many of the songs are Jill’s expression of the wind as it darts and dashes along, rushing through and whispering to the dramatic landscapes and their layered rock formations, steep canyons, and towering spires,” stated music reviewer Jonathan Widran.
Join us for this unique Badlands musical experience. The nightly astronomy program will follow the concert, weather permitting. The concert will move to the Ben Reifel Visitor Center during inclement weather.
