Pullman National Historical Park invites Fourth Graders in our community to join the SUMMER EXPLORERS! This free three-day multi-site adventure, led by our park rangers, will give participants the chance to explore NPS sites in the Chicagoland area, and learn outdoors skills at a Cook County Forest Preserve. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

What: Free three-day educational summer program. Each day, Explorers will have a different learning adventure as they experience and evaluate what makes a great community. Participants will reflect on their adventure daily and develop awareness of community planning, stewardship, and engagement.

When: 3 sessions, Wed/Thurs/Fri, 10am – 4pm

SESSION 1: June 12-14 (Session Now Full)

SESSION 2: June 26-28

SESSION 3: July 10-12

Each participant can join one of the three available sessions.

Where: Pullman Summer Explorers will begin and end each day at Pullman National Historical Park Visitor Center, located at 610 E. 111th Street, Chicago, IL 60628

Who: The program is exclusively for fourth graders (those entering fourth grade in Fall 2024 or those who recently completed fourth grade in Spring 2024). Selections will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to participants in the 60628 zip code. Neighboring youth from outside the 60628 zip code will be added to a random drawing if space is available.

To apply for a spot in one of the three available Pullman Summer Explorers sessions, complete the form below and email it to PULL_visitorinfo@nps.gov or return by mail or in person to the Pullman National Historical Park Visitor Center (610 E. 111th Street, Hours: Daily 9am – 5pm). Applicants will be notified by phone and email of their acceptance.
