Explore the Night

Southeastern Utah has particularly dark night skies, thanks to the distance from major metropolitan areas. Rangers from around the Colorado Plateau will join forces at Arches National Park to share the wonders of the night sky and celebrate the park's certification as an international dark sky park. Join us for ranger talks, constellation tours, and telescope viewing. A park store, operated by Canyonlands Natural History Association, will be available.

Programs will be changed or canceled in the event of bad weather.

Shuttles will provide transportation from Arches Visitor Center to the program location. Shuttles will provide transportation back to Arches Visitor Center through the evening. If you arrive late, or if the main location is full, you may be directed to an alternate location.

  • 6 pm - Shuttles begin driving from Arches Visitor Center
  • 8 pm - Ranger-led programs begin
  • 10:30 pm - Last shuttle leaves viewpoint
