Kintla Lake Campground is Glacier National Park's most remote frontcountry and car camping campground. It is located in the uppermost northwest section of the park known as the North Fork, approximately 40 miles from the West Entrance and near the Canadian border. The scenic drive along dirt roads is very slow and bumpy. Part of this drive takes you through the tiny community of Polebridge (one hour from Kintla Lake), and sections of the park that notably burned in 1988 and 2003.

Due to its small size and remote location, the campground is very quiet and, offers tent campers a sense of solitude. The campground sits on Kintla Lake and is surrounded by trees, providing shade, cover, and filtered views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. A hand pump is available for potable water, and a pit toilet is located in the campground as well. Motorcraft are not allowed on Kintla Lake, making for a quiet canoe or kayak experience. If you like to hike, don't forget to pack your boots, as day hikes and extended trips into the backcountry can be found near the campground.

Limited amenities can be found in Polebridge. There is no gas available.

Vehicles over 21’ in length and/or vehicle- trailer combinations are prohibited at Kintla Lake due to the nature of the long, narrow, and windy dirt road, and very tight parking areas at each campsite.

Sites are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Primitive camping is available, depending on weather and road conditions. Primitive camping is $10per night. During primitive camping season, there is no water available. Campers are advised to bring their own drinking water.
