Appomattox Court House National Historical Park and its friends group, the Appomattox 1865 Foundation, will host “Dynamic Dulcimers and Friends” in a free outdoor concert on August 31, 2017.

Appomattox Court House Final Boundary Adjustment Study and Environmental Assessment
The purpose of the study was to assess the potential for including lands associated with the Appomattox Campaign of the American Civil War within the boundary of the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. The study also identifies different strategies for protecting these lands and the historic resources located within the boundary adjustment study area.

Appomattox National Historical Park Goes Fee Free
No Entrance Fee starting October 1, 2016 Visitors to Appomattox National Historical Park will no longer be charged an entrance fee after September 30, 2016. A more detailed description can be found under Plan Your Visit, Basic Information and then Fees.

Civil War Soldier's Cremated Remains to Travel through Appomattox Court House National Historical Park
On August 18, at 1:00 p.m., the cremated remains of Private Jewett Williams, 20th Maine Infantry, Company H, will be brought to Appomattox Court House NHP for a ceremony honoring his military service. Pvt. Williams’ remains were recently discovered in Oregon and are being transferred back to his home state of Maine, but will pass through Appomattox Court House NHP as part of that trip.

Special Exhibits
