The park has created Boy and Girl Scout troop service projects that make for an interesting day on park grounds for your troop members as they provide a valuable service in support of the park. These projects help scouts achieve badges related to history and nature. In addition, scouts can obtain the National Park Service Resource Stewardship patch by completing certain service projects. The most popular project offered by the park, the History Trail Program, combines trail maintenance and trash pick-up with learning about the historical significance and background of the park. (It is recommended that scout leaders have two vehicles if doing the trail, one to park at the other end of the trail.)
