Distance Learning

If bringing your students to Antietam National Battlefield is a challenge, consider scheduling a distance learning program!

•Park Rangers are available to present an overview of the Battle of Antietam using a PowerPoint presentation (12 mb) and then answer student questions. This program takes about 30 minutes and is offered year-round from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Eastern time. The program is best suited for middle and high school students.

•This program is FREE.

•Schools can connect directly to the park rangers through their classroom computers using Webex (there is no cost for the schools to use this program). The school's computer will need a webcam, microphone, and speakers. We can work with you or your IT staff beforehand to set up a virtual meeting, to make sure all of the equipment works.

For more information or to set up a distance learning session, please email us or call us at 301-432-5124.

A 6-minute YouTube video where park rangers describe the battle is also available. This is a great introduction for your students before participating in the distance learning session.
