Donald W Stobbs

Donald Stobbs was one of five in the family who served in World War II. He was trained as a Navy pilot and assigned to VPB-135 but as the war drew to a close pilots weren't in as high demand. He was retrained and served as a navigator on a PV-2 flying missions off Attu in the Aleutians.

At the request of his daughter, Mary, Donald began writing his memories of his World War II experiences. Follow Donald's journey from farm hand to pilot and navigator online, explore his photos from the Aleutians, or download Donald's hand-written memoir.
