Angel Island, a State Park, was occupied by the U.S. military between 1850 and 1954 and was also an immigration holding station for Chinese immigrants to the United States. Numerous associated buildings still exist. The island also includes several early archeological sites.

The United States Immigration Station, Angel Island, is a National Historic Landmark. Angel Island, operated as a California State Park, is accessible by ferry from San Francisco or Tiburon. Call 415-435-1915 or visit the park's website for more information.
