The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America's historic and archeological resources.

The Baker House, built in 1910, is nominated to the National Register of Historic Places for its local significance in the area of architecture. It is a well-maintained example of a Craftsman-style bungalow and has many of the features that characterize that style. This was the dominant style for smaller single-family houses built in the US from about 1905 until the 1920s, and the Baker House reflects the influence of the Arts and Crafts Movement in Kansas and the United States during the early 20th century. |
