A Small Section of the Lily Lake Trail is Closed for Repairs

A section of the Lily Lake Trail is closed for repairs due to trail damage caused by eroision. The Lily Lake Observation Pier and picnic tables are not impacted by this closure.

To walk around Lily Lake, follow the trail from the trailhead to the right.

Chaos Canyon Has Reopened

Chaos Canyon has reopened to all users however, talus slopes and rocks in Chaos Canyon are unstable and may continue to slide much like any other similarly situated exposures in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Rocky Mountain National Park is a wilderness park and there are inherent risks when recreating in wild spaces. Chaos Canyon has been closed since June 28, 2022 due to a significant rockslide event that occurred on the south slope of Hallett Peak.
