Kolob Terrace Road Conditions - November through May

From November to May, this webpage will update conditions on the Kolob Terrace Road. This road starts in Virgin, Utah and rises to over 8000 feet in elevation inside Zion National Park. Because weather conditions can change very quickly during the spring, autumn, and winter, please check back frequently for road condition updates.

Kolob Terrace Road Update

The Kolob Terrace Road is clear and passable to two wheel drive vehicles to the base of Maloney Hill. From there to the mouth of Black Canyon the road is snowpacked and icy. Four wheel drive or chains are recommended. The road is closed to all vehicles except snowmobiles beyond the mouth of Black Canyon.

The Hop Valley Trailhead is accessible with a trace of snow There is also a trace of snow at the base of Maloney Hill, 2-4 inches at Wildcat Trailhead and 6 inches at Lava Point.
