The Zion Tunnel on the main highway through Zion National Park will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25. The temporary closure is necessary to allow painting of the centerline and curbs for visitor safety within the tunnel. Alternate east-west routes are available via Utah Highway 59/Arizona Highway 389 from Hurricane, Utah to Fredonia, Arizona and Utah Highway 14 from Cedar City, Utah to Long Valley Junction.
The Zion Tunnel will also be closed on Wednesday August 26, 2009 as part of the park's centennial celebrations. more...
