Zion National Park Solicits Concession Proposals for Guided Interpretive Horseback Rides in Park

Springdale, UT – The National Park Service announces the release of a prospectus for a new concession contract award to provide guided interpretive horseback rides within Zion National Park.

The current concession contract for providing these visitor services, held by Bryce-Zion Trail Rides, Inc. since 2003, will expire on December 31, 2014. The new 10-year concession contract is anticipated to take effect January 1, 2015.

A one-day site visit is scheduled for June 26, 2014, to allow interested parties an opportunity to view the facilities. The site visit will begin at 10:00 a.m. (MST) in the Zion Lodge auditorium in Zion National Park and is expected to end by 12:00 p.m. in the same location. Comfortable walking shoes, hat, water and sun screen is encouraged.

To attend the site visit, pre-registration is required. If you plan to attend, please contact Chief of Concessions Management, Jack Burns at 435-772-0145 or via email at jack_burns@nps.gov with the name of your company, a contact phone number, mailing address, email address, and the number of people attending from your organization.

Parties interested in learning more about this opportunity and how to submit a proposal should visit the National Park Service’s Commercial Services website at https://www.concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm. This site can be used to access the prospectus, which provides information on the business opportunity and the terms and conditions of the contract. Hard copies of the prospectus are available for a fee and must be requested from the National Park Service Intermountain Regional Office per the information on the National Park Service Commercial Services website.

Proposals must be submitted by Thursday, August 28, 2014.
