Through travel between Groveland and Lee Vining Possible

At 8 am on Sunday, September 6, the road from Big Oak Flat Entrance Station to Crane Flat and across Tioga Pass will re-open, making through travel possible between Groveland and Lee Vining.

However, the road from Crane Flat to the El Portal Road will remain closed, making Yosemite Valley accessible ONLY via Mariposa and El Portal along Highway 140 or via Oakhurst and Wawona on Highway 41.

Fire crews continue to work on falling hazard trees in the closed segment of the road. This section of the road remains closed until further notice.

Did You Know?
Unrestricted camping is no longer allowed in Yosemite Valley because of damage it causes. The placement of campgrounds and campsites has changed over the past 75 years in response to a growing understanding of river dynamics, geologic hazards, and the park's natural and cultural resources.
