Spring 2012 Workshops
The MRP Spring 2012 Preliminary Alternative Concepts Workshops are aimed to allow you to examine a range of potential visitor experiences all designed to be protective of river values. The eventual plan will guide the care and protection of the Merced River for the next 15 to 20 years. A workbook is intended to help you prepare for one of our four public workshops or two webinars (see 2012 schedule). The workbook is formatted for 11x17 paper but will print at 8.5x11. To print letter size, select "Fit to Paper" in the print dialog box. If you're unable to print the workbook, email or call 209/329-1110 with your address to have one mailed to you. Workbooks are distributed at public meetings. Note: Spring 2012 scientific documents can be found on the "Research" webpage.

Fall 2011 Workshops
These workshops were designed as an opportunity to let us know what you think of the options we identified to protect river values. The workbook provided below, was intended to help you prepare for the workshops. The workbook is formatted for 11x17 paper but will print at 8.5x11. To print at letter size, select Fit to Paper in the print dialog box. If you are unable to print the workbook, email us a request with your mailing address and we will send you one. In addition to the workbook we posted some of the preliminary site concepts maps. These are not design level drawings, but were used at the public meetings to foster conversation.

In 2005, the National Park Service created a public comment portal for all plans and projects requiring National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation. This site was named Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC), and it provides access to the current Merced Wild and Scenic River Comprehensive Management Plan related documents.

Spring 2011 Workshops - Associated Documents & Information

Yosemite National Park's Merced River Plan (MRP) team hosted a series of workshops and a science forum in the spring of 2011. These workshops were a chance to find out more about the conditions of the river's Outstandingly Remarkable Values (ORVs) and management considerations that need to be addressed in a successful Merced River Plan. The workshops focused on transportation, user capacity, and the Merced River's ORVs.

Public Scoping
The first four documents below summarize the public comments received from 2007 through 2010 on the scope of the new Merced River Plan. The 2007 Public Scoping Comments and the 2009-2010 Public Scoping Comments are unedited compilations of all substantive comment letters the NPS received during those two scoping periods. The file entitled Merced River Plan Public Scoping Comment Summary summarizes the public comments received from both scoping periods; it is intended to be a guide to the major ideas submitted by the public. Comments pertaining to natural and cultural resource subjects were analyzed separately by park staff and are included in the Merced River Plan Public Scoping Comment Summary Supplement.
