Internships

Most of our internships are filled through the Student Conservation Association [search for Yosemite internships]. Each year, opportunities may be offered in the fields of archival work, interpretation, backcountry patrol, wildlife management, and others.

Yosemite Leadership Program internships will be available in 2012 for UC Merced undergraduate students only.

The park also hires a GeoCorps intern each year for field work from around November through March.

Some volunteer positions (listed below) may be appropriate as internships. Additional opportunities could be added at any time, so keep checking. Most, but not all, positions are for the summer months.

Nevada and Vernal Falls

Did You Know?
In Yosemite Valley, dropping over 594-foot Nevada Fall and then 317-foot Vernal Fall, the Merced River creates what is known as the “Giant Staircase.” Such exemplary stair-step river morphology is characterized by a large variability in river movement and flow, from quiet pools to the dramatic drops of the waterfalls themselves.
