Half Dome Plan - comment
The Half Dome Trail Stewardship Plan EA was released for public review on January 24, 2012 through March 15, 2012. During the 52-day public comment period the park received 1,649 public comment letters from individuals, 5 from businesses, 7 from organizations, 1 from a county government agency, and 1 from a federal government representative. Public review and comment is a key part of the NEPA process. Thank you to everyone who participated in this planning effort.

In Yosemite Valley, dropping over 594-foot Nevada Fall and then 317-foot Vernal Fall, the Merced River creates what is known as the “Giant Staircase.” Such exemplary stair-step river morphology is characterized by a large variability in river movement and flow, from quiet pools to the dramatic drops of the waterfalls themselves.
