  • Northside Drive in Yosemite Valley, from Camp 4 to El Capitan Crossover, will be closed for road work until May 2009. Southide Drive east of El Capitan Crossover is open to two-way traffic for access to eastern Yosemite Valley (including Yosemite Lodge and Camp 4).

Seasonal Information

  • Rivers & Waterfalls: Yosemite, Vernal, Nevada, and Bridalveil Falls are flowing, with (typically low) winter flows.
  • Bears: Bears are still active and getting food from people (and their cars): be sure to store your food properly!
  • Fire: Prescribed fires may occur this fall. More information...
 

Lodging & Other Concessions

Yosemite Lodge, Curry Village, and the The Ahwahnee are open in Yosemite Valley. Wawona Hotel is open. Housekeeping Camp, Tuolumne Meadows, and White Wolf Lodges are closed.

Reservations are available up to 366 days in advance. Visit DNC Parks & Resorts' website for more information.


Campgrounds

  • Yosemite Valley: Upper Pines Campground is open all year; reservations are required. North and Lower Pines Campground is closed for the season. Camp 4 is open on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • Outside Yosemite Valley: Hodgdon Meadow and Wawona Campgrounds are open on a first-come, first-served basis. Porcupine Flat, Crane Flat, Tamarack Flat, White Wolf, Yosemite Creek, and Bridalveil Creek Campgrounds are closed for the season. Estimated closing dates in 2009 for all campgrounds are available.

Reservations are available up to five months in advance.

 

 
 

All park trails are open:

  • The Half Dome cables are down for the season. They are usually reinstalled just before the third weekend in May. (Learn more about the Half Dome hike.)
