Click on the links above to find out more about the logistics of planning a field trip to the park. Before visiting the park, students can take the interactive lessons in the “Yosemite in Depth” section to help them get more out of their trip.

Bridalveil FallYosemite in Depth” contains interactive activities directed toward elementary grades four through six. Students can complete these activities online before visiting the park to prepare for the trip. Icons labeled “Teaching Suggestions” near the bottom of the screens contain suggestions for teachers about how to conduct activities for each topic.

The activities are correlated with the geology and natural resources section of the California State Science Framework. The “Teaching Suggestions” also contain activities for teachers planning their own geology educational experience in Yosemite National Park.

Teachers can also consider the classes and educational adventures offered by Yosemite Institute, a private, nonprofit organization.
