This
Interactive Classroom is your invitation to discover Yosemite!
The Education Office in Yosemite National Park is finding ways
to better meet the needs of teachers who value Yosemite as an outdoor
classroom. We created this site to meet an increasing number of
requests from teachers for a field trip guide that allows them to
be on their own in Yosemite. However, you can use this site to teach
about Yosemite whether you plan to visit the park or not.
Visiting the Park
will help you prepare for your trip. If you are not
visiting the park, you can find out how to use this web site
as a learning experience for your class.
The National Park Service is committed to education, and it is
the goal of the Education Office in Yosemite National Park to follow
through on this commitment. We believe in the idea of Yosemite as
a classroom and encourage every opportunity for partnership between
the National Park Service and teachers.
We will continue to improve our educational offerings, finding
better ways to work together to stimulate students minds to the
wonders of Yosemite. It is our hope that students at all age levels
will be able to make inner connections between Yosemite and their
own values and personal experiences. This enables students to feel
ownership of this wonderful place that belongs to all of us.
