A 15-minute orientation film, entitled "The Siege at Yorktown," shows on the hour and half hour. From there, you can tour the museum exhibits which focus on the 1781 Siege of Yorktown, the Battle of the Capes, and the campaign table used by British General Cornwallis during the siege. The park's museum collection includes portions of General Washington's Campaign Tents which are display in the Visitor Center.

Yorktown National Cemetery

Did You Know?
During the Civil War, 632 Union dead were buried in the heart of the 1781 battlefield. In 1866 this cemetery became a national cemetery. Within a 50 mile radius, the remains of over 1500 Union soldiers were disinterred from their war burials and honorably placed in the Yorktown National Cemetery.
