The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
A Transcript of the Video by Susan Chin
The majority of this video showed scenic images of the
canyon area with no conversation.
Visitors amble around the Lookout Point lookout while
their tour guide provides some information.
Guide: "There is a good osprey population. We also have peregrine
falcons, violet-green swallows, and tree swallows in this area. There
is greater bird activity in the summer."
After a comment by a visitor,
Guide: "It’s glacial water that helped carve the canyon."
Visitor: "Yes, I know. The Colorado River is continually carving
out the Grand Canyon. Geologically the Grand Canyon is much older (than
the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone)."
At the lookout over the Upper Falls (near the Uncle Tom’s Trailhead),
a visitor swings his arm across the sky, pointing,
Visitor: "There goes one." (presumably pointing at a bird)
