On February 9, Susan took a late afternoon
ski trip to both rims of the Grand
Canyon of the Yellowstone. On the North Rim she stopped at Lookout
point and on the South Rim she photographed the views from Artist
Point. The column of mist from the Lower Falls was backlit creating
a spectacular scene from both locations. |

There were so many warm days this month that Susan
spent far more time outside the warming hut than she spent inside.
She explained that several of the sunny days felt like it was 60
degrees outside in the sun. The thermometer on the warming hut bears
witness to that. While she was outside, she spent a lot of time
talking and photographing snowmobile and snowcoach visitors. |

On the afternoon of February 16, Susan discovered
that she was the first person at Cascade Meadows since a recent
heavy snow gave the meadow a fresh new covering. This series of
photos will give you a glimpse of what it would be like to be the
first skier on this "off the beaten track" ski trail. |
