Some trails and backcountry campsites near the Owl Fire are temporarily closed. Details are available by calling the Yellowstone Backcountry Office at 307-344-2160 during business hours.

Crews yesterday continued mop up and the back haul of equipment.

Reconnaissance, mop up and continued back haul of equipment. Continued demobilization of resources and planning for incident transition.


Fire weather and behavior

Mostly sunny in the morning. Partly cloudy in the afternoon with a chance of scattered thunderstorms developing. Winds will become gusty  in the afternoon. With drier and windy conditions, moderate fire behavior could be expected should an escape occur.

The Daly Creek Trail has been reopened for day use only.
