Yellowstone Issues New Concessions Contract For Guided Interpretive Oversnow Tours

The National Park Service has selected West Yellowstone, Montana-based Yellowstone Expeditions to provide guided interpretive oversnow vehicle tours and rustic accommodations at a skier’s camp near Canyon Village within Yellowstone National Park starting this winter.

A prospectus soliciting contract bids for oversnow guided tours inside the park was issued in February 2014. The evaluation of bids was based on responses to five selection factors: protecting park resources, providing services at reasonable rates, experience, financial capability and the proposed franchise fee return to the federal government.

Yellowstone Expeditions’ new 10-year contract will be in effect starting with the upcoming 2014-2015 winter season.

Fishing Bridge.

You cannot fish from Fishing Bridge. Until 1973 this was a very popular fishing location since the bridge crossed the Yellowstone River above a cutthroat trout spawning area. It is now a popular place to observe fish.
