Public Meetings on Park Road Projects Scheduled for Billings, Cody, Cooke City, and Gardiner

The biggest project will be on a segment of the park’s Grand Loop Road between Madison and Norris through Gibbon Canyon.
Visitors can expect up to 30-minute delays from the time the road opens to travel April 17 through the summer. This section of road will also be closed to travel between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. every night from May 26 through August 16.
There will be no construction delays or night time closures during the Memorial Day and Independence Day holiday weekends.
Removal of an existing bridge and construction of a new span will require the road to be completely closed to all travel beginning August 17 until it reopens to snowmobile and snowcoach travel in December.
Park staff will provide details and answer questions about this and other road projects at a series of public meetings:
Billings: Monday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Region 5 offices at 2300 Lake Elmo Drive.
Cody: Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m.; and Thursday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 1338 Rumsey Avenue.
Cooke City: Monday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m.; and Thursday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
Gardiner: Monday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gardiner School Multi-purpose room; and Thursday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m.; Monday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m., and Monday, September 21 at 1:00 pm in the conference room of the Yellowstone Association headquarters on West Park Street near the Roosevelt Arch.
Similar meetings have already been announced in Bozeman and West Yellowstone. Additional meetings to be scheduled in other communities near the park and will be announced in the coming days.
