Campgrounds
 

There is no camping in the monument.

However, Bonito Campground, operated by the US Forest Service, is located across from the visitor center at Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, approximately 20 miles from Wupatki.

This campground is generally open from late May through mid-October. There are no hook-ups.

Arizona has more fairy shrimp than any other state except California. Three species of fairy shrimp, a single tadpole shrimp species, and a single clam shrimp species are found in the ephemeral pools and prehistoric impoundments at Wupatki National Monument.
