Along Park Gravel Roads:


The Nabesna Road is paved for the first 4 miles. Beyond mile four, the road is gravel and dirt surface. The road is maintained by the AK Dept. of Transportation.

Current Conditions: 10-3-07

NABESNA ROAD IS CURRENTLY IN GOOD TO FAIR CONDITION.

NABESNA ROAD ADVISORIES:

DOT IS WORKING ON THE ROAD THIS WEEK BETWEEN MILE 14 AND MILE 18.

NABESNA ROAD IS WET AND MUDDY. EXPECT LIGHT SNOW BEYOND LONG LAKE AT MILE 23.

TRAIL CREEK (MILE 29) HAS SHALLOW WATER CROSSING THE ROAD.

LOW CLEARANCE VEHICLES SHOULD USE CAUTION WHEN ATTEMPTING CREEK CROSSINGS. WE RECOMMEND THAT MOTORISTS EVALUATE CREEK CROSSINGS PRIOR TO STARTING THROUGH. ONCE STARTING ACROSS, MAINTAIN MOMENTUM UNTIL BEYOND ALL WATER. DO NOT STOP IN THE CREEKS.

PLEASE STAY ALERT TO CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TO RISING WATER LEVELS. ROAD CONDITIONS CAN DETERIORATE QUICKLY.



The McCarthy Road is gravel and dirt surface. The road is maintained by the Alaska Dept. of Transportation.
