June 28 heavy rain dampened the growth and activity of the Chisana River Fire. The lightning-caused fire started May 31 and has grown to 46,135 acres. It is in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge. State of Alaska Division of Forestry continues to monitor it. No resources are threatened at this time. Information will be updated when significant activity occurs or the fire is declared out.
