Copper Center, Alaska – The summer is fast coming to a close and with that park programs and hours of operation will be changing at Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. The following are scheduled changes to begin in September: 9/01 - last day the Chitina Ranger Station is open. 9/07 - last day the Kennecott Visitor Center is open. 9/16 - last day of ranger programs at the Copper Center Visitor Center. 9/20 - winter hours begin at the Copper Center Visitor Center, 9am –4pm, M-F, 9/30 - last day the Slana Ranger Station is open.
