Park Planning
|
Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts is beginning the process of developing a Long-Range Interpretive Plan. We believe that the public as well as the park's staff, partners, and volunteers play a vital role in this process and invite you to share your ideas and suggestions regarding the park's interpretive program at an open house on Tuesday, May 25 from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm. If you are interested in participating, simply stop by the park that day to talk with park staff and share your thoughts. The Long Range Interpretive Plan is the document that will guide the development of our future interpretive program. A long-range vision and the actions needed to achieve it are outlined in this plan. The LRIP is one component of the broader Comprehensive Interpretive Plan, which defines a park's interpretive program. All interpretive activities are based on it and coordinated by it. The resulting program communicates – in the most effective and efficient way – the park’s significance and meanings while promoting the protection and preservation of resources. Click here to read a brief publication that describes the Comprehensive Interpretive Plan process. The park's web site describes some of the current interpretive and educational opportunities in the "Things To Do", "For Kids", and "For Teachers" sections. The open house on May 25 is a venue for the public, volunteers, and friends to stop by and offer their ideas and suggestions for the future of interpretation at Wolf Trap. Any questions, please click here to e-mail the park staff. |
